Are Supplements A Waste Of Money?

By Katherine Crawford

Many dietary supplements offer a quick fix solution to a problem that is taking over modern society, excess fatness.

The bad news here is that there are a lot of hidden truths that the average person is not aware of.

Thus, here are 6 things the supplement industry doesn't want you to know:

1. They are highly unregulated: In fact, it's the governments responsibility, not the supplement companies' responsibility to prove that a product isn't safe. This means that virtually anyone can put a product up for sale and wait to see what happens.

2. Fish oil is not the end all be all: In fact, too much fish oil does more harm than good. If you take more than three grams per day you run the risk of excessive bleeding and bruising. Even worse, you can oxidize your heart.

3. Taking high amounts of calcium is not safe: You see, calcium can create kidney stones when taken in excess. So make sure you are well aware of how much calcium you are taking. Even better, get calcium from sources like leafy greens.

4. Whole food will always have more nutrients: You see, whole foods interact with each other in ways that science is still trying to figure out. And when a supplement goes through the manufacturing process, it loses most of its nutrition.

5. Less is better: The less supplements you have in your diet the better. You see, nobody knows for sure if supplements are safe in the long run. And if you get the majority of your nutrition from whole foods, you will be far better off here.

6. You don't need weight loss pills with caffeine: You see, there are natural alternatives like loose leaf teas that are just as powerful here. Even better, they don't cost as much as come with a huge amount of anti oxidants.

Supplements, more often than not, will be expensive with minimal benefits. So take action on this advice today, don't delay!
