How Stress Has An Effect On Your Health and What You Can Do About It Now

By Annie Grimm

Everybody know what stress is, but few of us know precisely what stress does to our bodies. Even fewer know what we are able to do about it. Everyday there's an onslaught of stressors in our lives. Stress is our body's way of rising to a challenge. Stress is a life-threatening situation (or at a minimum our bodies believe it's life-threatening). Our bodies automatically turn on a stress reply purely from a mental state, like public talking or coping with an angry, shouting person. Even though these circumstances aren't a life or death situation, the human body will treat these situations as if they were.

There are two hormones which are present in any intense situation; adrenaline (epinephrine) and glucocorticoid--these are the two components of the stress response. A high frequency of occurrence of these hormones leads to lingering sickness.

Our bodies answer to stress in many ways. It jeopardizes our health by causing increased heartbeat rate, elevated blood pressure, immune system dysfunction (including momentarily closing down all non-essential functions), destructing brain cells (which has effects on learning and memory--the hippocampus center of the brain) and even causes plaque build up in the arteries (atherosclerosis), among many other problems.

Stress affects the way our bodies function and it'll affect our health today and for years to come. So what can we do? There are excellent supplements for stress on the market today to help handle stress. Try to have a more happy outlook on life; laugh more, love more and exercise constantly. One or two great supplements to try: New Chapter's Rhodiola Force, Holy Basil, and Perfect Calm.

Learning how to cope with stress is key to much better health. Repeated stress attacks only cause more problems for your health, and if you don't take the time to slow down and realize what effect stress is having on your life, you may regret you didn't take action. Get a new perspective and try a few all natural stress supplements to see what works best for you!
