Everyone Loves It: Pizza Pensacola

By Mia Berger

It's quick, it's easy and we all love it. Pizza Pensacola is a great option for dinner or a good lunch. Everyone loves a cold slice for breakfast as well. It's a versatile snack or meal that can be prepared a lot of different ways. Depending on where you live, you probably have an idea of what it 'should' taste like. We all tend to be a little protective of our regional foods.

There are many types available and one of the variables is the crust. Do you like thick or thin? Your choice can greatly change the way the it tastes. The thicker crust is usually left to rise while the thinner crust is rolled flat.

The pizza prepared New York style is probably one of the most common. The crust is rolled thinned and topped with tomato sauce. A layer of mozzarella cheese covers the top and then pepperoni is added. Other toppings include peppers, mushrooms, onions, or whatever else you choose. Some pizzas are made with only vegetables or even more exotic toppings like seafood.

Chicago is famous for deep-dish style which is very different from other types. It's prepared so that the toppings and cheeses are often more than an inch thick. This is eaten much differently than the standard thick or thin crust pizza. This is usually a tomato based dish with many of the same toppings use in New York.

California pie is often cooked without a pan, in a brick oven. It has a distinct taste and the crust is often thin. Toppings vary from grilled veggies to fresh mozzarella.

Any of the above mentioned types might be served as pizza Pensacola depending on who is making it. It's a great option to feed a large group. Schools serve it a lot because it has all the food groups in it. Everyone loves this stuff and it's the perfect meal.
